Our feline guests stay in two air-conditioned rooms of our home adjacent to the Groton Veterinary Hospital. Since 1977, we have provided a clean, quiet (no dogs) environment for our feline guests. We pride ourselves on the personal attention we give to each cat in our care. Feline guests are never left unattended at night or on weekends. Our objective is to keep the cats comfortable, stress-free, healthy, and safe.
Accommodations
Self-contained, two-level units
Our feline units have two levels which allow for movement up and down and provide a place to sleep above the litter pan and food area. Units can be arranged to group family cats together or to isolate shy cats. Special needs (single level) units, with oversize litter pans and greater floor space are also available for cats requiring specialized care.
Health and Safety
Vet On-Site
Sleepy Hollow Feline Bed & Breakfast is adjacent to the Groton Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Susan Horowitz lives and works on-site and is available should your cat(s) require medical attention. Your cat's regular veterinarian would also be consulted in the event urgent care is needed, as would you. Groton Veterinary Hospital is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the Cornell Feline Health Center.
Our feline guests do not roam free or share common space. The security of knowing they will be protected from other feline guests and remain in their own space minimizes stress and reduces the possible contraction of upper-respiratory viruses. For the protection of all guests, cats are required to have up-to-date vaccinations prior to their arrival. Cats who spend time outdoors must also be current with an appropriate flea and tick control product. No cats with fleas and/or other parasites or contagious diseases are permitted in the boarding area. If any problems surface, your cat will be transferred to the Groton Veterinary Hospital.
